2023-Vintage - Strawberry, plum, rose petal, earth , spice , very nice — 4 months ago
A wonderful wine that we enjoyed with our Christmas dinner that included some beef tenderloin. Not sure how they do it but Carter keeps cranking out wonderful cabs. — 4 years ago
You would never know this is a Grenache by looking at it. The color of the wine is super light. But the flavor comes alive on the nose and palate. — 6 years ago
Nose: stone, pepper/spice, raw steak, not much fruit given the age
Taste: cranberries, floral/ violet, great body, medium tannins, great finish
Paired fantastic with roasted chicken dinner. — 6 years ago
2023: Whole cluster grenache, so more herbaceous and floral than fruity. Soft tannins. Served it slightly chilled with burritos - really fun, crushable wine. — a month ago
Only rosé I’ve ever liked! — a year ago

2021 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. Medium body. Surprisingly agile and without the usual, massive Napa Cab footprint on the palate. Fairly tight core of root beer and dark cherry that wasn't unraveling. This was obviously an infanticide episode but someone insisted. Delightful and tantalizing intro but, (currently) in the end, mostly sizzle and no steak. Maybe things roll diffy in a 15-spot jiffy but doubtful. The sexy intro/ambiance/influencer/wannabe vibe now doesn't translate into relevance a decade or two in. And if this was throwing everything into the pot now? Still comes up short for the price that is being commanded. 'Scuse me while I yell at some clouds. Lately things just don't seem the same. The grapes from this historic/unique vineyard are but pawns in some new, multi-millionaire/billionaire game. Gimmie some 70’s/80’s Mondavi Reserve Cabs instead porfa. Keep the Opus bleep. C’est la vie. 5.14.26. — a month ago

A more nose-shy KFW offering - subtle cherry, raspberry, black tea, cola nut on the nose. Lively, tart palate, lovely sip-friendly palate texture, touch of spice towards the finish, faint tannins. #eolaamityhills — 2 years ago
Time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Tasty and spicy. Delicious and extracted. A very typical Cabernet for the region, but oh so yummy.
Dry and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, graphite, dark coffee and peppercorn.
Very fruity on the palate and elegant. Well balanced with nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime (3 hours).
I've heard many people trash the 2017 vintage in California. So far I've not seen that to be true, and this is a great example of that.
This 4 year old is still very young, and would age nicely in the next 10 to 20 years.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with grilled Lamb chops.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
95 points.

I was inspired to open this 2016 Carter Weitz after tasting the 2024 Fait-Main Weitz at the Taste of Oakville. I thought it was the best wine I tasted at the event.
While this 16 Carter was very nice, it was still much bigger than I expected it to be with 8 yrs in bottle. It showed beauty and elegance but still has its brawn. I will wait another 5 yr + to try it again. Believe it’s best will show then. Mike Smith made. — 3 days ago
