Medium-bodied, with silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a delicate texture. The finish is smooth, with just a touch of dark chocolate bitterness, typical of well-made Negroamaro.

Winemaking Notes

Founded in 1979 by Giovanni Cantele and his two sons Augusto and Domenico. Ruby with big fruit aromas with sweet jammy notes. On the palate concentrated berry fruit flavors, a bit jammy and sweet, lively acidity, surprisingly great balance. Firm tannins yielding a medium finish ending with noticeable alcohol. 2013. Much more floral nose than the Nero d'Avola we tried next to it. Dried roses and violets lead to a cardamom and allspice note to it. The palate is much juicier but has a touch of cinnamon which I believe comes from oak aging. I like this slightly more than the Nero d'Avola. — 11 years ago

Medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a smooth, rounded texture. The finish is clean and refreshing, leaning toward a fruit-driven profile rather than oak influence.
