Ca' del Laito Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Corvina Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Black cherry, red plum, red currant, wild strawberry, hibiscus, sandalwood, tree bark, licorice, dried lavender. Very layered, with an almost sweet quality to the tannin. Good balance between fruit and earth and spice. — 17 days ago

Vigneto Alto Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 1997

A monster on decline. Opened it at 10am, decanted it at 4pm, started sipping at 7.30pm. Deep garnet color, incense with fig jam on the nose, oriental spices blended with wild cherry, blueberry wnd dried fig on the palate. I should've opened it 3 years ago. Still, quite an experience. — a month ago
