Cask J1. Dark blackish tawny color. Very much opaque. Wispy, rustic nose. Notes of charcoal, roses, mocha, cola, vanilla, and charred barrel. Seems very old to me. Is it fortified? While I'm trying to ascertain what this might be, it's revealed as old school Cal Cab. Pretty impressive stuff. — 4 years ago

Medium ruby in color; plums, bell peppers, and paprika on the nose; medium acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like raspberries, jalapeño, and wet slate with a long finish. It's a really interesting flavor. It's not for everyone, but well made. I like it. — 7 months ago
