Reductive funk on opening recedes pretty quickly after decanting. Few hours later the fruit is of the serious black kind & laced with wood spice. Sour cherry and blackcurrant but with dominant notes of black liquorice sticks, hickory, dandelion & burdock, damson & black tea on the nose. Palate has good concentration and structure with dusty but firm tannins (for Bojo), this may be from young vines but should really benefit from some time in bottle. (5+years) Palate shows inky black cherry and blackcurrant fruit that leans slightly more towards the savoury end of the scale. Less complex than the nose, hopefully will open out with time in bottle. — 8 years ago

Sandalwood, pencil shavings, dark cherries, toasty, and burdock root. Initially split between VR or NSG. Structure and minerality gave way to NSG. Opened up a bit but rather linear. Very interesting contrast to the Vosne Romanee Les Chaumes 2014 I recently tried. At least to me, this had the signature CLB characteristic nose, without betraying the terroir. The Les Chaumes had a more floral and pretty nose, but less structure versus the Aux Cras. The two plots are roughly 250 meters apart. That's terroir for you. — 8 years ago

Incense, smoky, Christmas spice, wet autumn leaves, soaked cherry compote. Rather airy for an 2006. After two hours, nose is earthy with burdock root in a very pleasant way. Sour cherries on the last splash. Guessed 01/02 due to the sweetness towards the end. One of the best 2006s I've had. — 8 years ago

Golden brown in color, light head on pour, small to medium sized bubbles. Honey note in nose. Complex apple flavor profile is the canvas for the painting of botanical flavors - dandelion, chamomile, lemon balm and burdock. Dry, no tannins on finish. Not my favorite from them, seems I might be allergic to the dandelion, but a nice product, well crafted as usual. — 8 years ago

Made with brettanomyces isolated from the lees of Pearl Morrisette's 2014 cuvée blu. Crazy how much that seems to have influenced this beers aromas and final flavour. Orange wine beer. Delicious and with a fantastic nose. Really does smell more like wine. Palette is so well balanced. Great stuff. — 9 years ago

Henri Bonneau Celestins 86. Transparent edges with murky dark brown core. Wet leaves, iron (blood), burdock root, and roasted plum raisin. Almost like red nectar. Tannins are silky smooth, while the flavors are intense and long. Yet, slightly past peak. Disclaimer: a bit of cork fell in!
