100% Plavac Mali, Croatia’s most popular red grape variety and also, recently discovered, an offspring of Zindandel, from vineyards on the Pelješac peninsula on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. Aged for 6 months in French oak barrels (and another 4 years in bottle in this case). Notes of strawberry and smoke. A hint of cherry cola that I’ve noticed in some Zinfandels. I thought it would be a fruit bomb, but after some airing it was totally balanced. Earthy, savory, pleasant to drink — a year ago

A region I need to better explore, Peljesac peninsula Croatia — a year ago
This wine had me start using Delectable again after a couple of years. It’s an orange wine and it tastes like the earth. — 6 years ago
Very tannic, deep red with a bit of Merlot nose but more complex finish. Blackberries and leather. Really interesting alternative to a cab sav or rioja. — a year ago
Plum, not overly sweet, pairs well with chocolate. — a year ago
This is a SUPERB red! It’s up there with Bura Dingac in terms of quality. Big fruit; syrupy; and beautiful tannin all around. A must have. The Dubokovic family does everything right ! — 3 years ago
