Recall that La Boutanche is a project designed to bring good, low intervention wine to the people for around $20. Different producers so a variance in quality too. So it goes.
The ones from Le Sot de L’Ange (bulldog label) are the best of La Boutanche I’ve tried and “Melon” is a serious step above. It’s creamy and rich, voluptuous, assumed from extended lees contact. It has white creamed corn, Granny Smith Apple, bitter almond, chamomile, white flowers, and fennel. — 7 years ago

Finished the lasagna and this is dessert. Damn it's big. Juicy and low tannin sitch, like biting into a plum. Gary the bulldog snores in the background. Kate opened a bag of Tate's cookies and life couldn't get much better. — 9 years ago
Really enjoyed this until my bulldog (not pictured) rolled off the futon onto the coffee table and spilled it everywhere. — 10 years ago

Something to warm the cockles on a snowy day after yet another Christmas party. Dry gin, better with tonic which brings out the flowers. — 10 years ago
Really enjoyed this Georgian (and I'm not talking Bulldog country) full bodied red. Paired with an awesome meal at the Georgian restaurant Darbazia in Moscow. One of the best wines I've had during my travels in Russia. — 10 years ago
Bulldog approved divine marriage of lightness and spice! My kind of red incorporating many layers of fruit and structure without being too sweet or heavy. — 12 years ago
