Vibrant, racy, tight. Needs a yr or two but delicious after 2 hrs. — 2 years ago
One of the best champagnes I’ve tasted. Disgorged May 2021. Perfectly balanced. Lemon peel, chalk, peaches, a hint of almond, more minerals, more lemon oil, perfect acidity. Will try to lay another one down for a few years. So freaking good. Isn’t this what Chardonnay should taste like? Day 2 update: left open on counter overnight. Even better. Tons of stone fruit showing through, more chalk, still very balanced acidity with lemons, lemon curd, a touch of cream. Amazing — 4 years ago

2020/5, I think with grilled lamb. A big bouquet of black olives and meat on opening, with black berries peeking out later. Plenty of acidity too. The fruit is lightening a bit so I’m not sure if this will “hold” per se, but am curious to see what happens with the aromas in my last 2 bottles — 6 years ago

From New Season in OR. $26.99. Colin rated 2. Would buy again. Enough brightness. With food is good. I would prefer a bit sweeter ones for my desserts. — 8 years ago

A unique bottle opened by our host Alex Giesen in his Puligny chateau.
Photos of our new friends Lisa Giesen, my wife Debbie, the Palm tree shirted author of this post, Alex Giesen, my wine travel companions for this trip, Sandra & James.
A family only bottle made just for the Giesen's, not available in the market, so fresh and clean; barrel fermented as only a Kiwi transplant in France world choose to do. A nice pull from Alex's private cellar. — 8 years ago

Done on Jonny’s beer course. Beer one of week 2. Belgian “farmhouse style’. Nice. Almost a leffe - like it — 6 years ago

Bright nose with lemon peel and lime curd notes with just a hint of yeasty spice. Lively palate with citrus and stone fruits. Good depth but not very complex.
