Terrific Syrah/Mourvèdre blend. Bits of dark berries and red fruit with light tannins and a smooth finish. Can’t tell this blend was aged in bourbon barrels but perhaps this is what gives the wine a unique taste. Yum! — a year ago

The nose is initially quite expressive with raspberry, blackberry, anise, leather, and earth. It does fade a bit after some time. The flavor profile is darker, with blackberry, tar, and black cherry. Firm tannins are present but not overwhelming. Longer finish dominated by black fruit and drying tannins. Give this an hour or two to breathe. Should age well for another 5-10 years.
