Crisp but smooth with apple pear and soft caramel. — 7 months ago
Pretty light medium ruby , wide pink rim. Lightly spiced , strawberry and raspberry , quite sweet. On the palate this has a slightly more savoury element , with some raspberry , red cherry hints and a touch of toasty , herbal notes . Balanced acidity and light tannins , ok length and a star anise tinged finish . Drink now and over the next few years . — 4 months ago

Steely, mineral driven, some apple, lemon zest, a nice long finish. — 2 years ago
Oozing strawberry, raspberry, currant, and blackberry fruit with juicy acids and a prominent but not overbearing spiciness. This just needs more time to settle in and integrate as it’s all primary currently. Give air or pair with hearty food if drinking soon. From the historic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard. — 5 months ago
Wow, this took a while to open up. Definitely started off with almost a sour note to it, and I was a little worried. The bottle was past its prime. However, after a good 30 minutes of allowing it to breathe, he really got some good herbal and forest floor notes among cool fruit with a nice structure that wasn’t flabby or overly processed. Got basically a horizontal tasting of this and the other sub regions of this producer and I’m excited to see what the other ones bring. — 6 months ago

One of the best example of ripe style California Chardonnay I have ever had. It hits with a savory character of grilled pineapple, then gives away to a variety of ripe stone fruit, a roux of spiced oak and even further back, a crushed rock minerality that keeps the ensemble lifted and enticing. The pallet is even more surprising as it confirms the stone fruit, adds a touch of citrus and slaps you with tingling stony acidity that keeps going and going. The juxtaposition of opulence and lean elegance is outstanding. After drinking through some flabby 2018s recently, this is a smacking reminder of why I fell in love with Jim’s wines to begin with. Wow!!!! — 17 days ago
