Impressive first vintage of Jirón de Niebla by Rico Nuevo, a new exciting project in Gredos by Juan Andrés Martín and winemaker Julio Prieto of Viña Zorzal. 100% Garnacha from the cool north-facing site El Sotillo, in the village of Burgohondo (Cebreros appellation). Quite aromatic. Beautiful red fruit, floral notes and Mediterranean herbs. Fresh, mineral, great acidity. — 4 years ago
Wow this is neat wine from Mallorca.
Smells as if it has been filtered through cavernous cliffs. The fruit is all flinty, bright, and interesting. Lots of pit and rind, a great wine that showcases how well wines can grow and absorb the ocean air. The Saline shows itself in the wine, if only slightly.
Enjoyed at one of José Andrés fine establishments.

Albillo Real in Solera. Aged with flor. Fortified wine that tastes like fino Sherry. — 5 years ago
Just getting started on this bottle. Garnacha that is fresh and crispy brings me to bliss. Spain should be a country we love more. Cycling, prosciutto, olives, wine, futbol, the Canary Islands, Paco de Lucia, Andrés Segovia, Charo, Seinfeld’s episode about the third tenor...”The Other Guy”. About to have some spicy bruschetta, then eat some pizza while listening to The New Gems. — 6 years ago
Oxidized. Pale orange color. Honey and yeast and caramel apple with wet leaves and damp wood. A real treat, like a dry sherry with more savory depths. — 6 years ago
Solid 2018 from Ehlers. This #sthelenacab is delicious and smooth. One of my favorites from Premiere Napa Valley 2020 #pnv20 #pnv2020 20 cases produced. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Ehlers’ organic estate vineyard, which produces wines of great distinction
Located in the north end of St. Helena, the vineyard is composed of very shallow, gravelly loam soils
The wine is unfined, unfiltered and is aging in 100% new French oak
Your wine is the first vintage from winemaker Laura Díaz Muñoz
This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Block 4 on our property which is our highest elevation block. The Cone See vines are planted in volcanic soil, the same profile found on Howell Mountain. Our vineyards have been farmed organically since 2005 and certified since 2008. This 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the best expressions of the estate - rich in tannins and color, aromas of boysenberry, raspberry jam and forest floor herbs promise the potential of getting better in the years to come.
