Beautifully aromatic showing blueberries so I though it might have a fair amount of Malbec. Texture is supple yet there is a bit of a grip. A little astringent. A nice sipping wine and pairs nicely with our rib eye too! TD-9 is named for the tractor John Shafer drive in the vineyards. May he rest In peace.

Domaine de la Crée recently purchased by Domaine Serene in Oregon. It is a monopole Clos de la Confrérie. Nice Santenay example and the 2014 is my style with pronounced acidity from a cooler vintage. Light and elegant with a “funk” that I find pleasing. Dry, slightly bitter finish. — 7 years ago

Enjoying some of the wines we brought back from Australia. While the Hill of Grace is what Henschke is known for, this Pinot from the Adelaide Hills is an elegant, light style. I’m enjoying the red fruit and “Dentyne “characteristics. Medium+acidity makes this a great food wine. Lovely tea tannins lead to a sweet tart finish. — 7 years ago

Dense black fruit, earthy and savory, supple tannins with a slight chalky texture. Very well balanced and enjoyable. Enjoyed it with beef stroganoff, earthy mushrooms paired well with the wine. — 5 years ago

Agree with the group that this is reminiscent of a Cru Beaujolais. Fresh strawberry up front with lively acidity. This wine wants to run and play. Slightly chilled, it paired well with my chicken enchiladas. — 6 years ago

Yum! I was worried because the cork was soft, so I used the Durand. A bit of VA but it blew off. Great fruit for a 9 yr old wine, vanilla notes from French oak and delicious juicy berry flavor, spice and dried herbs. Silky, lingering finish. It’s a winner! Carmenere based. — 7 years ago

Purchased at Whole Foods. Super easy and pleasant drinking with grilled sausages. Also nice as an aperitif. Medium + acidity and loaded with ripe citrus, pear, peaches, apples, and a long succulent finish. — 5 years ago

2015 Jabolet Domaine de Thalabert Crowe’s Hermitage—Earthy/mineral nose with dark, juicy fruit aromas. Very dry with blackberries and cassis, licorice, black pepper. Ripe fruit entry that expands mid palate, mouth filling with firm structure and fine grained tannins. Long, lingering finish. A memorable wine. — 7 years ago

A nice white from a red Burg producer. Sea spray and pear aromas. Good body weight, medium acidity and went well with our roast chicken. — 7 years ago
