One of my favorite sparkling wines. Like buttery toast on the nose and dry acidic with a medium body — 8 years ago
Strega is an interesting Italian liqueur...better described below. I only sporadically enjoy it, but it's fun and tasty at each sip.
"Strega is an herbal, saffron-infused liqueur deeply tied to the secret world of witchcraft. Witches are said to convene in Benevento to perform rituals and honor Il Noce, the sacred walnut tree. (The lower part of the logo shows witches dancing with demons around Il Noce.) According to legend, Giuseppe Alberti, son of a grocer, saved a witch from falling out of a tree in the woods. In gratitude, she gave him the recipe for an elixir, which the Alberti family began selling in 1860, perhaps as a curative or restorative.
The liqueur's proprietary recipe is a mix of 70 herbs and spices which include Ceylon cinnamon, Florentine iris, Italian Apennine juniper, Samnite mint, fennel, and saffron. Saffron is the key to Strega's signature yellow color and it shares the spotlight with mint and juniper as the most pronounced flavors within the herbal mixture." — 9 years ago

Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has cold oak, yeasty bread dough, yellow apple flesh and cold limestone.
Palate has chalk dust on yellow apple, saline minerality and cold bread dough.
Medium-short finish, but quite pleasant on the nose. — 7 years ago
Aged 12 months in oak and it shows. This wine is delightfully rich without being heavy. Excellent berry flavors with deep oak essence. Perfect with pasta and steak. — 8 years ago
Best TJs red wine I have had - incredible value at $10. Give this one a long decant and it will reward. Structured and balanced. Great herbal notes. Delicious on the second day too! — 9 years ago
Interesting liquor at full strength. Over 40 botanicals, with anise, saffron upfront. Sweet. — 10 years ago

"Odedi"
Drinking this pre-release bottle of this iconic wine from Bordeaux.
Light gold in color.
Strong nose and Full-bodied.
Sweet on the palate with high acidity to balance the sugars.
Showing melons, tropical fruits, apples, light earth, guava, herbs, spices, papaya and honey notes.
Long finish with herbs and tropical fruits.
This is a gorgeous sweet wine from Bordeaux. Sexy, seductive and fresh. Creamy and buttery.
Showing great potential, but oh so young. Already delicious and complex. Round, opulent and powerful.
Loved the nose once it opened up (20 minutes in the glass).
Rich and extracted. Fruit forward and intense, yet elegant. Well balanced with a soft mouthfeel.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. Drunk from a Magnum.
A blend of 75% Sémillon and 25% Sauvignon Blanc. Aged in all new French oak barrels for 24 months.
154 g/l sugar.
14% alcohol by volume.
96 points.
