One of the most fascinating single malts I’ve ever had. This is not for beginners. It’s oily and industrial in the best way, with notes of grain, honey and oak. I liked it a lot, but it felt incomplete, maybe a little one note. Certainly not an everyday drinker, but it was definitely educational. I’m looking forward to trying some of their alternative barrel offerings. EDIT: This grew on me like Kudzu, baby. I LOVE this whisky. The more I drank the more complex and interesting it became. Has a high fruit forward nose, apples, pears, kiwi. Faint, faint, vanilla and oak but still really fruit forward. — 4 months ago

Balvenie Doublewood 12yr - the nose is light with a hint of wood. On the palate you get a bit more power and a full mouth warmth. Finish gives you more of that wood and heat. It’s a good, easy drinker. Won’t go out of my way to get but wouldn’t feel bad if given a dram. — a month ago
