Powerful, intense, and concentrated but still super soft and smooth. Maple syrup, nuts, singed and spiced oak, dried fruit. — 2 years ago
Vinhas Velhas - 40+ indigenous varietals inter planted. 20.5% Fig, prune, almond paste, raisin, sticky pumpkin pudding, pecan pie. Elevated acidity, full body. Pronounced intensity and prolonged finish. — 5 years ago
A delightfully mature nose with dried and fresh red fruit, loamy soil, allspice and hint of creamy vanilla. Palate is lively but tannins are gaining the upper hand. This most have been a monster in its youth. Cassis, cranberry, red cherry fruit mingle with lots of spice. Finish is had fresh and dried red fruit notes. It is missing just a bit of depth. This was a dynamite suggestion from the sommelier and a lovely match to the amazing interpretation of suckling pig. — 6 years ago
Dense but smooth. All dark fruit, dark berries. Prominent but extremely fine and smooth tannins. Prominent alcohol and tangy finish. Really very nice. — 2 years ago
My 2nd favorite 20 yr behind Grahams. Ramos Pinto is good as well, but seems to have to bottle to bottle variability issues…. Taylor is a great standby at a good price. — 2 years ago
Figs, honey, toffee. Beautiful. — 5 years ago
