I was lucky to try some of Niepoort ports at Martine Saunier tasting recently and since then I’m hooked on Port. This one very complex more dark chocolate and mocha like flavors than deep toasted almond that I was getting from Fronseca and Ramos Pinto. This seems to be my kind of port. Niepoort that is.

Strawberries, cherries, black pepper, cinnamon, chocolate, warm liquorlike finish. Very nice. But not top drawer, mainly because the balance and integration of fruity sweetness, spicy complexity and alcoholic content should be better

Warm, spicy and still quite young. Chocolate covered red and black fruit. Very good Vintage Port, albeit somewhat one-dimensional at the moment.
