Bricco del Bosco Grignolino Monferrato Casalese 2018

A grape from Piemonte I didn’t know, apparantly lost but coming up again due to the younger generation winemakers. I’m in! Transparant in colour, gamay like taste and very light on it’s feet. But it’s a silent killer with it’s 14,5%. Very pleasant surprise! — 6 months ago

Brigantino Casorzo Malvazia

5% abv. Was expecting Malvasia, not this. That said, this was quite nice in a light dessert wine, left on skins a bit, which impacted color and structure a bit. Can't wait to open my second bottle to enjoy with the organic strawberry pop tarts I ordered from my farm share - would be unbelievable. I prefer Moscato or Brachetto, but with a fruit dessert or cheese/fruit/jam, this would be great. — 6 years ago

Barbera del Monferrato Superiore Cima riserva della Casa Barbera 2012

Wow. Now my favorite Barbera. Surprisingly elegant for Barbera. Smooth and complex finish with licorice and leather, starting with cranberry and raspberry. An expensive but worthwhile purchase. This wine was still fresh and could age even longer. — 3 months ago

Campo Moro Piemonte Barbera 2018

This was so lovely. Something gorgeous on the nose I couldn’t quite put my finger on, but it brought me to a past time. There was also some tannins and flavours of leather with a gorgeous subtle lemon juice. The primary flavour happening is berries over all of this loveliness. — a year ago

La Bernardina Freisa 2019

Ah, I get why Freisa gets little respect- deceptively light open, indeed, strawberry/raspberry acidity, vague mid palate, earthy, chalky but short tannin post...but it’s a very enjoyable, edumacational evolution! — 4 months ago

Bricco Battista Barbera Del Monferrato 2015

A touch on the modern side but really long, complex and elegant. Even some Burgundy on the nose. (The oaky yet integrated kind of Burgundy.) — a year ago

Monferrato Nebbiolo 2015

This is truly a great bottle of nebbiolo. All characteristics of young nebbiolo with red fruited profile, nice aromatics and just the right amount of fruit density. No excessive tannins usually found in langhe nebbiolos or entry level barolo/barbaresco. Just great bottle of wine — 4 years ago
