Tasted alongside '91 Geyserville. Blends are pretty different - this is Zin, Carignane, Grenache. The Geyserville is heavy on Petite Sirah. The acidity on this was refreshing and a better match with the Larosa's pizza. — 12 years ago

87zin/13petite sirah. This has everything you want in a Zinfandel but dialed back with class. I’m shocked there is this much PS because even at 11yrs, it’s not overly dark/chocolate driven/black pepper spiced. Seductive aromatics of violets, black cherry, mixed berry pie. Great acidity for a Zinfandel. Cedar, spiced red and black berry fruits. Drinking at peak. If you love elegant zin, you’re hard pressed to find a better one. My favourite Zin for sure! 17 months in French oak domination, 6% Mourvedre and 2% Syrah. Blueberry, sweet spices on the nose also some pepper, medium intensity. Ruby color, slow tears along. Mefium plus bodied, dry, medium acidity, medium plus alcohol, medium plus complexity, medium plus finish. 91 points MF.

Not a very Zin like Zin but a really well made wine in a more grenache style. Strawberry candy and pepper on the nose and palate, excited to try this with barbacoa. 91+ drinking in its wheelhouse and will be great for another 2 years. — 7 years ago
