Star bright pale gold with green highlights. Abundant and inviting nose of citrus rind and mineral. Medium bodied palate yields lemon rind, cement, and lily bud. High acidity entry to finish. Austria’s signature variety from Austria’s premier wine region gives its best showing in this bottle. Pair with practically any white wine food, including (famously) asparagus or Brussels sprouts. Drink now through 2029. — 3 years ago

This is the Smaragd. Star bright yellow gold. Abundant nose of yellow apple and stony white flowers. Echoed on the medium light palate adding white pepper and citrus rind. Throw in firm acidity and it’s an excellent wine for a wide range of foods; especially appropriate with pork or seafood dishes. Drink now or hold through 2029. — 3 years ago
Vintage 2007 - Oh, how I hate this... every bottle was a bit disappointing to me.. and now this is my last bottle... that delivers! Apple blossom, lemon and a touch of wax and honey, mild acidity and good tension. Drank this with a salad and roasted shrimps. Should I have waited longer with former bottles? — 7 years ago

Very acidic, goes great with salami (I love it without food but classmates don’t) — a month ago
