Light, chillable red with fruit notes. Had 1.5 bottles during dinner at Adarra with Vince. There is no wine list so this was the option when “light, chilled” red was requested. — 5 days ago
Nose has crushed raspberry, lemon zest, under-ripe cherry and cut flower stems.
Palate has dehydrated strawberry, raspberry jam, slightly under-ripe nectarine and orange peel.
Refreshing as the day is long. Interesting to note that this bottle is sealed with cork, prior vintages (same format size) used Stelvin (screwcap).
1500ml for a warm, humid Berkshires afternoon. $42!
A saignée of Trollinger, Portugieser, Zweigelt & Spätburgunder. — a month ago
Pepper, leather, and a touch of raspberry. Medium tannin. — 2 years ago
Medium weight white blend, round mouthfeel and a bit flabby. White floral notes and exotic fruit aromas. — a month ago
Don’t think I’ve had a German Zweigelt before. And from the tiny but intriguing Württemberg region no less. Lean, acidic, and spicy. As always with Zweigelt, very easy to drink. — a year ago
Funky with some fruit—a spatburgunder made with zweigelt and a Cab grapes. Yes please — 3 years ago
