Walla Walla Viognier

Horsepower Vineyards

High Contrast Vineyard Syrah 2018

This is a great quality Syrah from Washington State. Very stinky, in a good way. I had it blind and called it just by smelling it.

Harsh on the palate with black fruits, oak, spices, vanilla, peppercorn, wet leaves, earth, olives, mushrooms, vegetables, tobacco and espresso.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity. Very rich and extracted.

Dry and fruit forward with great complexity.

Thank you Barry for sharing.

Took 3 hours to open up, and it may not have been enough time.

Still extremely young and would be better in 5 years. Will age nicely in the next 25 years. A 95+ point wine in 10 years.

I paired it with heavy appetizers.

14.3% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$200.

Uriah Estate Grown Walla Walla Valley Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Bordeaux Style Blend of Merlot(48%), Cabinet Franc, (45%), Petite Verdot (4%) and Malbec (3%). Aromas of black currant, fresh herbs, cherry, violets, dark chocolate, nuts and spices. Dark currant, coffee and bakers chocolate flavors. Beautiful balance and creamy texture. Fine and silky tannins. Touch of vanilla on the finish. Simply elegant! — 12 days ago

Cayuse Vineyards

The Lovers Cabernet-Syrah Blend 2012

45 min decant (some cloudy sediment). A irresistible dark ruby red color. On the nose: beautiful savory nose of smokey meat, slight Cayuse funk(luv it), wet stones, minerals, orange peel, dark cherries. Taste: a smooth, fresh, lite wine with little blackberry, pepper, earth, tobacco, and a espresso-herb-raspberry medium finish. No need to wait, drink em if you got em.....wish the taste matched that nose. — 20 days ago

Maison Bleue

Voyageur Yellow Jacket Vineyard Syrah 2014

Holy cow is this good. Nose features tons of all kinds of warm, smoky rock dust. There’s peat, sweet spices, and rich, pure red, blue, purple, and black fruit. In a word, the nose is complex. On the palate the initial attack is mouthfilling, but it’s in the mid-palate that it shines, with great flavor density (not weight) and softness. The finish is very long. Tannins are abundant but very soft. Medium acids (The Rocks District is known for lots of things, but brights acids aren’t one of them; I think the basaltic terroir has something to do with that.) Just outstanding. — 4 days ago

With Love Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2014

Nice contrast with the Two Hands Shiraz from Barossa valley. Darker, tarter fruit with much stronger backbone but not quite the depth. — 6 days ago

In the Hills Estate Syrah 2017

Honestly one of my favorite tastings. The in the hills syrah was surprisingly the funkiest despite not being from the the rocks district. The stonessence was rich and powerful. Two of our favorites with the foothillls reserve not far behind. — 20 days ago

Estate Red Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

Wonderful. Really enjoyed this with a reverse seared tomahawk ribeye. Expressive nose. Dark fruit on the pallet. Well balanced. Lengthy finish. Slightly grippy tannins. — 19 days ago
