Los Carneros Chardonnay 2020

Medium lemon color, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral and mineral notes. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with citrus wrapped in a smooth nutty spice texture. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, spice and savory citrus character. — 5 months ago

The House Caneros Pinot Noir 2019

This is a very nice and easy drinking Pinot Noir from Carneros.

Showing red and black fruits with oak, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate, soft and smooth. Fruit forward and fresh.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself or with food. I gave it a light chill and paired it with light appetizers.

13.8% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Opened and poured into a decanter about four hours prior to service. The 2017 Beckstoffer To Kalon pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears and some signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful black and blue fruits, brambles, plums, currants, vanilla, cocoa and baking spices. Lavishly oaked. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the note from the nose. The finish is long and concentrated. Super primary at this stage. The fruit quality is very high and there’s a lot of it. A dense wine and I expect a long life. For my palate, better after 2027 and enjoy through 2050. — 5 months ago

Super Tuscan Stag's Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2020

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, blackberries, sweet cherries, spices, cedar, licorice, chocolates, vanilla, aluminum and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 4 year old from the problematic 2020 vintage is drinking beautifully now. Feels like a Napa Cabernet with an old world twist. Interesting stuff.

This Single Vineyard is fruit forward and rich. Complex and interesting. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Tasty and good by itself as a sipping wine. Will also pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Sangiovese and 25% Malbec. Aged in French oak barrels for 22 months. Unfiltered. A small production of only 1,700 bottles.

14.3% alcohol by volume.
