Sparkman Kindred Columbia Valley Grenache, 14.5% alc/vol. Ruby red, excellent clarity, light to moderate pigment extraction. Red fruit -strawberry, hint of raspberry- on nose, black currant, dark cherry, blackberry, barrel toast, caramel and licorice in the mouth, with a hint of mint on the finish. Mouthcoating seed tannins, light to moderate skin astringency. Good candy-like fruit with length but not all that acidic, so a good balance there. A nice find and a good sipper though I’m not sure how solid a standard it is for this varietal in Washington state as it’s quite a different expression of the varietal. Don’t care though; I still like it. Two hours after opening, some cola flavor emerges. — a month ago
This is a surprisingly decent PV for the vintage. Still lots of dark berries on this one. Smooths our after open for some time but still pretty good. — 4 years ago
Orange pink, dryish. Strawberry and floral nose, strawberry and nectarine flavor. Lush flavor profile but good enough acidity for food. A different rosé style — 4 months ago
Nose: bright blackberries, coffee , black licorice, smoke, bramble. Palate: tart but ripe blackberries, dark plums, white pepper, mocha, bacon drippings, star anise.
