Nose of ripe red fruits plus black plum. Obvious whole bunch influence. Fruit influence has diminished a little since previous tasting but there was some fruit sweetness when tasting at the end of the.palate and the bottle. Kiwi expert Bob Campbell MW was very impressed and said “the best Ata Rangi I’ve tasted “ when he tasted it in June 2016. — 2 months ago
Cherries and red fruit, nicely crafted, exciting NZ PN — 4 months ago
Aberdeen Altens Hotel. Cherry, slight peppery spice, smooth drinking and definite cherry and slightly tart notes on the finish. Easy drinking enjoyable PN. — a month ago
A pleasant surprise! Very nice with aromas of forest floor and black cherry. On the bud, there is sour cherry, figs, and earthy. Smooth with a spice note. — a month ago
Spiced plum, red currant, dark berry flavors, takes a while to open up, but once it does, it expresses beautifully. — 2 months ago
Never had a Marlborough Pinot before. Was having duck, so Pinot an obvious choice. Loved this. Light, which is what I was after, and slight fruity. — 4 months ago
Slightly heavier Pinot noir, ripened blackberries, plums, liquorice, cinnamon and toffee. Does not taste like a typical French or Aust/NZ Pinot. Elegant tannins and acidic. Taste more like a light right bank — a month ago
Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral and sweet spicy earthy oak. On the palate flavors of cherry, blueberry and currants with licorice notes. Medium firm tannins with racy acidity, great mouthfeel on a medium finish. — 2 months ago
For $49, this is great p/q. Less heavy than Neuendorf, and a touch more complex and balanced than Rockburn for the same money. There is the dark fruited spice of central otago but with a more burgundian acid and tannin profile. Savoury and long. — 3 months ago

Strong red florals and fading (compared to the previous tasting) yet noticeable oak. Also whole bunch influence. Tastes a bit bunchy. A little coarse on the medium plus bodied palate. Dark fruits - plum and cherry. Finishes with silky tannins which redeems the wine somewhat. A Shiraz drinkers Pinot with a twist - not very Burgundian. Amazingly Bob Campbell MW gave this wine 99 points in January 2015. — a month ago
