Funk. Cherry 7Up masked with swamp bacteria. I love it. — 5 years ago

This 2015 vintage is deeper, brooding, and beautiful. Dark fruit and tobacco with earthy herbs on the nose—mint, cilantro, and dirt—almost like an amaro. — 2 years ago
Starts out canned peaches, then the grip settles in, a lot of changes over an hour. One of my favorite alternative rose’s, an absolute eccentric gem. — 5 years ago
Low alcohol. High fizz. Lots of funk. Fuck yeah! — 5 years ago
Big storm and power just went out at 3 in the afternoon. Breaks my heart to put work aside and open this!
Almost have it 93. The nose is great. Violets, strawberry, and burnt orange peel. Palate is fun too. Slightly reductive, cherry, strawberry, salinity, and minerality.
I purchased this at North Loop Wine / Spirits in Minneapolis. Check out this shop if you haven’t/can. Great selection! Very helpful staff as well. I asked for the best Pinot under $60 and he passed quite a few easy names to give me this. So glad he did! They have a great selection of high end stuff, maybe best in MN? Smells like a shop that only sells dried fragrant fruit on tiny hemp strings. The shop is playing “Gorecki, Symph #3”
The first flavor/band to hit my palette is “XTC: skylarking” a harmonious blend of red and blue fruits, subtle, yet always a new one after every sip.
This wraps up with a truly silky, smooth style, with a long, lingering flash of vanilla. “Prince: Purple rain” is what’s happening in my head at the moment..
Stunning Cab Franc blend..

Moonhill version 2. Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Pinot gris. From 2015-2020 vintages. Wow is this complex. Pinkish orange in the glass. Nose initially natty orange wine, but then it turned a corner after 2.5 hours. Now nose of honey, lavender, fresh baked bread, nuts, cherry blossoms or even cherries. Could smell for days. Palate is a mix of texture and flavor. More acidity and funk. Also more nuts with fruit and flowers in the background. I’m guessing this needs a day or more of air to come together. Will let the other bottle sit for awhile. Blown away once again by what this winery is doing. — a year ago
