25 Anni Sagrantino di Montefalco 2019

Still on the young side but already revealing it’s greatness. Additional cellartime will make this an exceptional beauty. Quite serious tannic backbone and some alcoholic heat. Time should make them blend — 3 months ago

San Valentino Sangiovese Blend 2019

Poured into a decanter about 30 minutes prior to service and enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2019 San Valentino pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and a decent amount of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with sensational notes of Bing cherry, plum, licorice, Palo Santo, varnish, balsamico, exotic spices, and a mix of dried under brush and earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose . The finish is long and there is no shortage of excitement. A wine that simultaneously makes you think and fills you with joy. Drink now through 2034. — 22 days ago

I’m into Umbria wines lately and thus Carapace is a great showing. Bold and on the rustic side. — 2 months ago

Sagrantino di Montefalco 2008

At 17 years this wine is still deep, vibrant ruby in color with powerful aromas of black cherry, black olive, earth, leather and forest floor. Showing youth as well as age it is full and meaty and yet still agile on the palate. Velvet tannins give it a rich texture but there is no heaviness here. Stunning wine with a very long finish. — 4 months ago
