Tasting Menu wine w/beef short ribs - would seek this out, very impressive straddling Old & New World style — a year ago
Wife loves it. She is having braised ribs and I am having pasta with a heavy red red sauce. Also a snowy winter night in Maine. Rich, full and warming. — 2 years ago
As is the case with so many older WS bottles, the cork crumbled upon opening, but the wine held. Beautiful color, tannins, and earthy spices. A wonderful accompaniment to barbecue ribs. — 10 months ago
Have a long history with the BV GdL but not sure if I’ve reviewed the ‘11. Decanted this one 2.5hrs and served with short ribs. The nose is the star of the show: pungent, redolent, pick your wine superlative. The palate just slight underwhelms after the overwhelming nose but still superb. Probably peak aging or maybe slightly past. — a year ago
Perfect with short ribs — 2 years ago
Hard to not drink young…ripe, complex, balanced. I admit to loving Zinfandel with food, and Ridge is right at the top. Blackberry, cherry, plum…noticeably tannic, but works like a charm with my renowned six-hour pasta fagiole and a healthy slug of quintarelli olive oil. Zin and pasta, zin and burgers, zin and ribs…just YUM! — a year ago
Enjoyed again with Pat’s grilled new york strip steak and filet mignon steak. Also enjoyed with Pat’s spaghetti. Enjoyed this Cotes Du Rhone “Terres d’Avignon” ($14) with Chef Louise Short Ribs & Pasta. — a year ago
2/2021. Deep rich flavor. Big. Paired very well with the short ribs at Mr. Friendly’s. — 3 years ago

Very nice! 1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Dark cherries and tobacco on the nose. Similar on the palate and paired nicely with smoked boneless short ribs. Silky with a medium finish. 93.5 but rounding up. — 3 months ago
