Bought En Primeur, and kept until now to drink. Drinking well right now, but has legs to go for a few more years easily.
Blackcurrant and dark fruits nicely balanced with strong tannins very enjoyable — 9 months ago
The 2020 d'Armailhac has all the fruit of the en primeur wine, and all the tannin too, almost like a barrel sample. I imagine the 2020 is going to need at least a few years to shed some of that tannic clout. Dark red cherry, red plum, pomegranate, blood orange, iron, white pepper and mint literally saturate the palate. The 2020 is a dense, plush d'Armailhac. It's a real head-turner. Cuvée Primeur, but not "Nouveau" from Gamay in Beaujolais by the Lapierre family. We recognize the style on the purity that has made the reputation of these remarkable winemakers. A charming and subtle fresh and pure juice, between strawberry, pomegranate, red fruits, floral notes. Even better the next day.
— a year ago
Raul Perez is a bit of a wine rock star, so I admittedly came to this 17$ entry level new project of his (with the Prieto varietal) with baited breath…& it did not disappoint. It drinks like…surprise.. a baby Morgon, with clean red cherries set in a fairly mineral frame. Quite lush on the nose. Not for acid hounds per se but still so vital & fresh. — a year ago
Violet color. Slight oak, sweet aroma. Rich strawberry, a bit jammy, also spicy, tannin. A bit sweet and not so acidic compared with previous vintage. Changed a lot over time. 2 hours, it reached 2015 level! 2023 @6700, Umem, 231118-231119 — 4 months ago
A lovely bottle of classic Lafite Rothschild. Ordered with old friends and new at Waldhaus Sils on the fourth anniversary of my father’s death. He was biased to Cabernet Sauvignon / Left Bank Blends, and appreciated his Lafite, even if he stopped buying them as prices got out of hand. 1995 was chosen in honor of the year that I met my friend Julian, with whom I have worked at two companies across 20+ years and now count as a dear friend and peer in our industry. The bottle was in great shape, likely bought en primeur and stored in the Alpine retreat’s cellars (tour tomorrow!). Oscar, the manager and sommelier has been at the Waldhaus for 32 years, so it was purchased in his early days. The tannins were very well integrated, with some dark fruits, delicious tobacco and cedar, and a long finish. — 8 months ago

2021 vintage. This was my favourite at the Boissenot lab primeur tasting (77 wines, but no Crus Classés), and now that it is on the market, it gives you an idea what to expect from a good wine in this difficult vintage. Attractive nose, very fresh, with cassis and flowers. In the mouth it doesn't have the weight of the great vintages, but it is an impeccably balanced, lighter wine, juicy and fresh, with more than decent length. Very modestly priced too, very good value and ready to drink immediately. A blend of 53% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc. Abv. 13%. — 2 months ago
