Central Coast Syrah

Medium + intense aromas, dark fresh fruit, black plums, figs, dark cherries and lavender. Definitely on the savoury side with prominent cold meat, pepper and gravel followed by some spicy nutmeg base notes.
Palate is dry with a refreshing acidity with a good freshness throughout , prominent but fine textured tannins, dark fruit on the palate with a slight cedar like coursness. Solid and fresh spine holds the palate through a solid finish

@Bryan Kesting Such a fun wine!

Bien Nacido Vineyard Syrah

Tastes like a cigar box smells.....in a cedar closet. Super bitter barky aftertaste, and dirty swig-from-the-bottle fun after two days open. Something amazing from Lompoc. — 2 years ago

Ballard Canyon Harrison Clarke Vineyard Mourvedre 2017

Intense, complex, and evolved stunningly. Ripe wild blackberries complement the beautiful earthy, funkiness that fades slightly with time. Really beautiful single-variety Mourvèdre. — 2 months ago

Anika Bien Nacido Vineyard Syrah 2016

Outstanding Syrah from Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, a site Rajat Parr has been exploring for a number of years (some, in collaboration with Piedrasassi) to craft a California Syrah to match the northern Rhône best ones (if you've read Rajat Parr's Atlas of Taste, you know he's obsessed with Thierry Allemand). Lively, balanced, delicious. — 2 years ago

Rim Rock Syrah

Great bold flavor on the 2017. A solid full-bodied lip smacker. Pairs well with the old dutch-oven-chicken-and-veg. — 10 months ago

Harrison Clarke Vineyard Red Blend 2014

Bright and delicious with a nice big dollop of raspberry jam. Sustains well with floral tones emerging on the finish. This is a delicious, fairly straightforward wine. An ideal warmer on a cool day. — 2 years ago
