You can taste the granache. Lovely wine on a warm day. Nice and dry with a bit of sweetness — 18 days ago
A notch better than the last bottle 3 months ago, likely because I decanted longer. Perfect pairing with beautiful slow smoked and then seared steaks from Kinderhook Farms. Loads of cherry. Slightly chunky at this point but doesn’t detract, at least not with food. Delicious. — 2 years ago
Last had this almost 3 years ago. The years have been good - this is in a very nice place. A decant still helps for sure, but the red fruited aromas leap from the glass here. The tannins are surprisingly still quite present on the palate, but the fruit acid balance is excellent. Very nice and a great pairing with kinderhook farms pork chops in a Chinese marinade. — 20 days ago
Served with the Vinloq System
👀Dark yellow golden honey. Unfiltered
👃Sour citrus, wax, savory herbs with tea & mint
👅Honeyed, candied stone fruit. Ripe apples. Very herbal with pronounced acidity. Salty. The finish is dry, long, & delicious
So interesting. So expressive. Superb clarity. Singular flavor profile likely due to botrytis and long elevage. Just…wow
The remaining wine was Slow Decanted with Vinloq & refrigeration
Sampled this on 2 more occasions
👃Bold, distinctive & precise
👅Probably would not guess riesling in a blind tasting. Tea, cognac & sherry all make appearances. Bruised/ripe apple is only perceived sweetness
Virtually unchanged in 15 days. Feels very sturdy. Probably would be an interesting wine to cellar.
Jakob Tennstedt is a new winemaker in the Mosel. He biodynamically farms 50-100 year old vines he restored on steep blue slate terraces. This wine was so laborius to make that he will not do it again. I am glad I was able to try it this time and it gives me motivation to try his other wines🥂

Don't ever pass on the second labels, pricing is always attractive in comparison, especially in a great vintage!
Decanting now, notes forthcoming...
Initial nose has dark and dusty fruits as the wine entered the decanter, think a good night will lay ahead.
Getting into this finally, after ~3 hours in the decanter.
Nose has moist earth, tanned leather, ripe plum, cassis must, touch of eucalyptus and tobacco.
Palate has ripe plum, ripe black cherry, faint mulberry, fresh plum skin, eucalyptus and green+red peppers. Tannins are medium, but quite present.
Paired this along side a beautiful NY strip steak from one of our local farms in nearby Columbia County. We got a beautiful, medium rare, cook in the sous vide bath, then finished with a great, quick sear on the stove top. Delicious, I love cooking with science!
Drinking nicely this evening at ~18 years past vintage. Expect this bottle to hold strong until at least 2028-2032 in proper storage. — 4 years ago
