A stunning wine. One of the great GG’s of Germany and easily a top 5 Rheingau GG. Soaring aromas of elegant minerals, dash of brown sugar to add complexity, spice notes and sea breeze. So complex and ethereal. Palate is structured, dry and super intense. Wow is this salty and structured. Tighter than the 19 and showing much younger than the 19 did in August. But so precise and stunning. Needs air. Glad I brought another bottle. So dense and concentrated while being light on its feet. What a finish that’s almost tannic. — 9 months ago
With >200 yrs of family history in Rheingau, this producer naturally grows mostly Riesling, but this PN is stunning. Medium-deep ruby brick color; nose of red and blue small ripe fruits, pronounced spiciness, and new oak but in amounts best described by the Swedish word ”lagom” (just enough); low alcohol but with a respectable structure from acids and small tannins, mouthfilling and a long finish where violets, mint, strawberries, and herbs linger. — 2 years ago
Beautiful creamy with electric acidity balanced out with subtle salinity. The Malo and barrel aging really shines here. — 2 months ago
Lemon, lime, but more prominent, yellow apple, stonefruit, physalis and pineapple. Complex nose, very aromatic, very much a sense of sunripe fruit. The acidity is not the highest of Riesling’s, but it’s there. Big old barrels leave no oaky flavours here. Either fully integrated at this stage, or maybe there was never much to begin with. — 7 months ago
Nose of citrus and herbs. Very expressive. Vivid and clean. Palate is fresh, vibrant and energetic. So pure and clean. Juicy, nimble and complete. Has that 2020 roundness but no sense of lack of freshness. Great stuff. Will go perfect with my all fish meal at Brut. — a year ago
Aravind A
Wow. Stunning. On the nose: dense lemon, lemon oil and soft peach. On the palate: slate and grapefruit in spades over more citrus. Dense, fantastic acid and a long finish. Not really like other GG wines I have had before. — a month ago
