Monkey Bay

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Just ripe peach, some grassy notes. A little green bell pepper. Very drinkable. Another excellent NZ Sauvignon blanc. — 18 days ago

Clonakilla

Canberra District Shiraz Viognier 2004

From magnum and served after the Chardonnay challenge last Saturday. Meaty - savoury and delicious - very Northern Rhone. Vibrant and strong for a 20 year old wine, admittedly from Magnum. Went down well with the Chardonnay tasters. — 2 months ago

Finger Lakes Cabernet Franc 2022

Took a an hour or so to develop the green bell pepper note I was looking for. Smooth and balanced. Not quite the depth an old school Loire cab franc may provide, but slightly less tannic than those and easy to enjoy. Would decant next time—suspect there is more there. — 2 months ago

Finger Lakes Semi-Dry Riesling 2019

9.1

Always nice, but I prefer the Dry to the Semi-Dry. Give this a little time open in the bottle. Medium plus depth. — 2 months ago

Mohua

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Could drink this frequently. Nice acidity, well manicured lawn, slight grapefruit held up very well to two different dishes but easily quaffable on its own. Crusher! — 15 days ago

Cloudy Bay

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Pale lemon. One the nose- apple, pear, peach, citrus, and a grassy/herbaceous note that I can’t put my finger on. Burst of grapefruit and pineapple with some minerality on the palate. Medium body. Nice, zesty acidity. Was a bit tight at first out of the bottle. Best to let it breathe a bit and losen up some. Fun and cheeky wine! — 5 months ago

Oyster Bay

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Pale gold in color; lemon, yellow apples, and peaches on the nose; high acidity; tastes like lemon zest; honeysuckle, and pear with a long finish. Nellie and I like it. Rayne did not. — a month ago
