McCutcheon Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

$54 pinot. Translucent ruby red with and orange ring. Very clear. 13% alcohol: Herbaceous sage (roast chicken stuffing) mixed with cherries. Light to medium body. Strong herbaceous flavour followed by fruit and berry notes. Light to medium tannin drying out the tip of the tongue for a laser point finish of dry herbs and tip of the tongue. — 6 months ago

Single Vineyard Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2019

Good mid palate weight and purity. Red sweet raspberries get swamped in grippy acid and savoury notes. excellent balance. Good but not great p/q — 2 years ago

Half Acre Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2003

Magnificent. Has gained weight with age while retaining the gorgeous fruit and brambly spice. Nat White is a genius. — 4 months ago

Judd Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

A brassy red colour - quite transparent. Notes of Red Fruits, compost heap (decayed plant matter) - Sous Bois in general. A quite sweet palate with a savoury earthy twist - Raspberries, Strawberries and Red cherries. Judd vineyard I believe is one of their better Pinot Noir Cuvées. This was excellent. — 8 months ago

Garagiste

Le Stagiaire Pinot Noir 2018

A new producer to me as in Garagiste from the Mornington Peninsula. Light to medium Ruby. Aromatic red fruits of Strawberry and Cranberry with a stalky whole bunch note. Fresh and young. Light in colour but medium intensity with medium dry tannins. Great QPR at $25 a bottle. Not for long keeping I would say. Had another one 71 weeks later on 17th November 2021 with consistent notes. Excellent value. — 3 years ago

Meres Single Vineyad Selection Pinot Noir 2015

Back in the day I bought a dozen of these and don’t record everyone. See previous note 271 weeks ago. Emphasising again that the Mornington Peninsula is great for Pinot Noir. Mid to light Ruby in colour with pale slightly tawny edges. Rich red fruits on the palate with aromas of Sous Bois/compost heap. A very good Mornington Pinot with Medium plus intensity belying its pale colour. Will have the remaining 3 bottles over the next few years. — 4 months ago

Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2020

Pretty pale ruby , wide pink rim . Lots of ripe red fruits, raspberry , strawberry , rose , spicy redcurrant . On the palate quite good refreshing acidity , very light tannins . Ripe red fruits , on the palate as on the nose , with a herbal touch. Ok length and quite refreshing finish , well balanced. Drink now and over the next few years . — 8 months ago

Single Block Release Block 1 Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2012

Pale to Mid Crimson in colour. Red cherry and a tarry note . 80% whole bunch in the ferment. On the palate red and black cherry (flesh and skins). A fuller style - medium weight + palate. Mornington Peninsula is very good for Pinot Noir and this was the first Pinot to win the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy for Best One Year old Dry Red at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show. Delectable this is the Single Block Pinot Noir not the Syrah. — 3 years ago
