Spicy and savory, with a whiff of wild herbs and lemon zest that completes a gorgeous bouquet. Silky on the palate, as ripe melon, hints of lime, minerals and juicy acids keep things lively and fresh, tapering off with inner florals and a hint of sour citrus. $14.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2020) — 8 days ago

Note: THIS NEEDS AN HOUR DECANT.
Nose is deep - smells more like high end burgundy. Dark but bright cherries and also that depth you get from expensive burgundy. Deep dense perfume. Cherry flower perfume. Insane. There’s is Nebbiolo spice but is integrated so hard to differentiate from burgundy.
This gets a holy shit!
Palate is intense middle of season cherry fruit. Almost cherry liquor. Some sour cherry. It has that high end combination of dense and intense but acidically balanced fruit. If she had harvested this a day later it would have been too much but as it is it’s perfect. Utterly psychotic. Maximally Delicious.
Finish is so bright it almost lights the palate on fire. Perfect lingering cherry extract. That kiss of perfect but not over the top cherry extract takes this over the 9.5 line for me.
Amazing she got such a great wine in a difficult vintage.

This is one of the most curious wines I have tasted. It is made in the #Veneto area with the grape #tairosso which is also #tokairosso which is supposively #garnacha #grenache I say supposively because this wine on the nose and on the palate was very much like a Cabernet Sauvignon and full of pirazina aromas at the same time as ripe black fruit (black cherry, plum and cassis). #italy — 17 days ago
After drinking a few of these in a short period of time I’m getting more of the sense of the “Montebello” house style. This one is more restrained and slightly more austere than the 2010. On the nose, tobacco, cassis and earl grey tea. In the mouth, grippy tannins, dark fruit, black tea, acid. Long finish. Like all MB, needs time, but totally accessible now. Yum. — 14 days ago
