Subduction McCabe’s Brook Marquette 2015

A night of firsts for me: first Marquette and first Vermont wine!
Love the vibrant acidity. Nose leads me down the lovechild path of Beaujolais romancing Bonarda. Heavily cranberried sauciness with herbal influences. I would like to chill this few degrees and revisit with a thanksgiving menu in the fall. Likey!

Pet Nat Sparkling Finger Lakes Leon Millot Blend 2020

Pretty interesting, very dark pet nat. 62% Leon Millot, 26% Marquette, 12% Cabernet Franc. There's a little funk and big notes of blackberries. It's bold, it's not too sweet and has medium tannins. Definitely giving out Lambrusco vibes. — a month ago

Franc Fizz Cabernet Franc Marquette

Totally agree w @Ely Cohn . 2020 is a bit less fruity than 2018, I think. Ever so slightly carbonated. Round fruit w some nice tannins at the end. Concentrated plum (preserves) w some blackberry. Reminiscent of a Lambrusco. But from Maryland? Nice effort by the Mid-Atlantic! — 2 months ago

@Severn Goodwin correct! I thought the same thing — had to try it. And damn if it wasn’t good!

Mid-Alt owns CF….no longer a Loire-thing ;) Va folks have been building pet-bat or Carbonics for years with CF. What Westminster is solving: the use of hybrids to stretch case production (and thus profitability).

@Ron from VA @Severn Goodwin yeah the dash of Marquette grape in this imho mutes some of the cab franc but adds to its fruitiness. MI also producing some nice cab franc these days too!
