Nose of cherry, black berries, hay and a bit of an irony touch. The palate is delicious. Superb cherry note, good width, very sweet and tender mouthfeel, a spherical mid palate with a nice layer of tannins, creating some distorsion in the mouthfeel and making way to a delicious, fruity finish that vibrates for a very long while with that bright cherry note. Great wine! Paired very well with lamb chops on the barbecue. — 3 days ago
Dark, dense & with a pronounced mineral, irony streak. Fresh dark cherries, a note of thyme, and iron & graphite.
Mid weight in the palate with great precision & focus - firm yet juicy tannins, cool & mineral acidity and a underlying blood & iron accent. This is dense & savoury yet still quite elegant and very drinkable.
A beautiful example from the Eisenberg.
This is why I love Blaufränkisch! — 3 months ago
Dirty, dusty red fruit - red currant, raspberry, rose hip, but also a whiff of blood orange with a mineral core underneath, fresh & slightly funky.
Bone dry on the palate, with persistent bubbles, juicy fruit and a slight touch of tannins. The irony, bloody character of Baga shines through.
Unorthodox, delicious stuff. Brilliant with food. — 2 days ago
Having a bit of a Tolpuddle time......have had worse weekends.....! If I have miscued on the irony these are very good wines! Pale Lemon in colour. Nutty almond and grapefruit notes with white citrus flowers with some funk - lees stirring? Light to medium weight palate with medium acid. Could go a couple more years if desired. This is a great example of cool climate Tasmanian Chardonnay. More Chablis than Meursault in style. The following day a little more tart. — 5 months ago
This took hours to open up but when it started it was great. Earthy nose of wet humus, roasted chestnut, pumpkin, molasses and black pepper, moving into savory fruit: blackberry compote with orange rind, blackcurrant and sour fermented blackberries. Expressive, salty and bloody palate with irony minerals, round acid, and a peppery finish. A little bit dark fruited, but still quite enjoyable. Needs a few more years or a long decant. — 9 months ago
Starts off a bit muted but opens up nicely and shows great freshness with sweet cherries and plums wihh the a pinch of allspice and a seductive flowery whiff.
Fresh & sappy on the palate with nice energy, juicy acidity and a good tannic frame.
This has a lot of charm, though it doesn’t have the irony minerality of Burgenland. — 12 days ago
Forgotten bottle at my in laws. What a good surprise! Didn't know I had left it there 🤷🏻♂️.
This is again a very biaised review as this comes from a vineyard located 10 miles away from where I grew up. A blend of negrette and syrah.
There is a strong violet, blackberry, irony, pepper nose. Very inviting. The palate is very much defined by its acid backbone and its vibrant blackberry and cherry note. There is a huge tannins wall in the middle here, drying up everything in its wake but making way to a fruity, peppery finish with a fruity twist. Huge wine for less than 10 euros — 2 months ago
