Cved 10/26/20 Chardonnay comp. equally compelling nose as Trousse-chemise but with notes of the farm and fields! Almost caressing the nose. More supple and balanced palate and lively texture carrying to a gentle finish. Such an interesting comp. should try the 2018 too. — 2 days ago
Not as good as the 2015 but close. — 2 months ago
Allen Brothers Ribcap wine.
The nose reveals ruby, ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum with extra skin, poached strawberries with raspberries on the edges of the glass. Limestone minerals, dark spices, touch of black licorice, graphite, dry tobacco, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove & vanilla, dry crushed rocks, steeped tea, anise, cola, dry stones, dark, rich earth, bay leaf with candied & florals that are; withered dark, fresh red, purple & violets with fields of lavender.
The palate is round, lush with dusty, fine tannins. Ripe, ruby fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum with extra skin, poached strawberries with raspberries on the edges of the glass. Limestone minerals, dark spices, touch of black licorice, graphite, dry tobacco, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove & vanilla, dark chocolate, some caramel, dry crushed rocks, steeped tea, anise, cola, dry stones, dark, dry clay, rich earth, bay leaf with candied florals that are; withered dark, fresh red, purple & violets with fields of lavender. The acidity is round and nicely executed. The finish is classic Bordeaux. Nice balance that begins with fruit then slides into dry earthiness that persist minutes.
Still needs another 5-7 years of cellaring to be at its peak.
Very good with the Ribcap but, not the perfection I look for in this pairing.

This is a wine I’ve only had young. It has far more backbone when it’s young. After 8-9 years in bottle, it more like white burgundy with grassy notes of Sauvignon Blanc.
This is a wine I could write a novel of notes regarding.
The nose shows characteristics of; White Burgundy, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier & Sancerre. Cut grass, herbaceous notes, tropicals, stone fruits, guava, passion fruit, lichee, subtle mint, waxy candle, honeycomb notes, cream, vanillin/vanilla, gentle white spice, limestone mineral & chalkiness spearmint, camomile, spring flowers, jasmine & fields of greens.
The mouthfeel is gorgeous, voluptuous & sexy, waxy, round with beautiful viscosity. Cut grass, herbaceous notes, mix of tropical melons , stone fruits-white peach dominate, guava, passion fruit, lichee, subtle mint, waxy candle, honeycomb, marmalade, cream, vanillin/vanilla, gentle white spice, limestone mineral & chalkiness, fine & delicate crushed, limestone & sandstone minerals, burgundy volcanics, understated spearmint, shades of garden fresh green beans, hints caramelized brown sugar, melted caramel, saline quality, river stone, camomile, spring flowers, jasmine & fields of greens. Acidity is like a warm summer rain. One of the best, long, rounded, lush, ruby, extremely well knitted structure & balance finishes I’ve had & persists for minutes.
My favorite Sauvignon Blanc to date. A great climate, soil structure, terroir for Sauvignon Blanc in the right Winemakers hands.
Gorgeous wine & a steal at $69. I believe $150 a bottle & a three bottle minimum off their list. The 2012 vintage released at $120.
What a pair with the garden fresh cherries tomatoes, basil, salt, pepper, half of squeezed lemon in olive oil. — 25 days ago
Huge nose. Huge aromas. Green apple, spice, white alpine fields of flowers. Also fresh tilled dirt. Like the freshest. Huge earnest and vocal aromatic minerality reminds me of Chenin Muscadet. Like Coteaux de Loir or Jasnieres. So layered and complex. Really just ethereal and so distinct. This is one of the longest aging Altesse out there. Wow, so elegant and pure with just searing mineral force. Juicy and so balanced with unreal acidity and depth. This is not for everyone in that it has a severity/austerity not meant for every drinker but all my geeks will adore this. So luscious. It’s the liquid equivalent of a long, meandering Tarkovsky film like Stalker or Nostalgia. Love it. — 3 months ago
Bokides Vineyard - Mourvedre
Dark & Fruity, unfined, unfiltered, nuetral barrel, native ferment... delicious, rico suave, bringing sexy back, and going the distance.
Delicious over two nights, bonkers now if you love dark fruity young wine, would love to see in 5-7 years (texture alone enough to hold, fruit is amazing now though). — 3 months ago
Stunning nose. Allspice, tart red fruits, cranberry, cardamom, clove, very Xmas vibes. Gorgeous earthy sweet spice as well. Palate is terrific. So elegant, sweet and intense yet nimble. Incredibly precise fruit (mid season cherry, sweet strawberry and a hint of black cherry) and terrific freshness, energy and cut. So pure and sappy. But remains nimble and svelte. Velvety tannins and high acids make this a Pinot geek’s dream. Such a good slowly building finish. Tremendous balance and awesome purity. — 2 months ago
Wow. What a bouquet. Even surrounded by the fragrance of lilies, I can just smell the essence of lavender, honey, meadowy grass, slight slight saffron. Wonderful.
This is a sipping wine. Almost a shame to waste it on poker night, since I won’t be able to give it, its full attention.
Slight bubbles, but I wouldn’t really want anymore. The acidity hits its note right on cue, balancing nicely with its off-dry quality. Definitely a bit of that petrol afternote. It works here, though, playing nicely off the backdrop of the after-the-rain dewy fields and mango/lavender note.
A symphony in the forest. — 2 months ago
