Mayolet, by itself, is a cousin of fumin: very dark when poured, but very light. The sad part, though, is that there is very little Mayolet. — 2 years ago
Like velvet. Dark candied berry on the nose, followed with a powerfully soft forest floor tobacco mouth. Citrus & fennel in there too. Strong tannic finish. — 2 months ago
Not sure why Delectably lists the Fumin grape first since it’s only 5% of the blend (Petit Rouge is 95%). But whatever. This is very nice. Nose has crunchy dark berry, walnut, crushed rock, and violet. A little like Loire Cab Franc but friendlier and less pungent. Palate shows lots of flavor in a light-footed frame. Deep, crisp, stone-inflected, ripe, dark berry fruit. Nice balance. — 4 months ago

I enjoy wine just to enjoy it. Not an excuse but fact. Which leads to brief comments with not much technical analysis. Why. Well to be fair because I am not that good at it. But I like wine. And I like this just because it is dark but very bright and light in body. I like that it is from vineyards up high too. Anyway, I like but have no benchmark to rate it higher. — 4 months ago

My favorite style of wine. Dark, smooth velvet, deep and dry. Had it at Maison de Fromages in Cogne, Italy. — 19 days ago
