La Touche Red Blend 2018

This red blend from Valle d'Aosta was remarkably smooth and light on its feet considering it's 14% ABV. Notes of red fruit on the nose and berry jam on the palate. Very enjoyable! A blend of Petite Rouge, Cornalin, Mayolet, and Fumin. 6/14/23. — 8 months ago

Vigne Merletta Valle d'Aoste Fumin 2020

In a deeper and darker register then I was expecting from this producer but I don’t think over tried the fumin before. Earthy, saline, dark berries, cassis, licorice, low to medium acid — 2 months ago

Chambave Vallée d'Aoste Fumin Petit Rouge 2020

Delicious, but quite the departure from the style of wine from this region I am used to.

Medium to medium+ body, More fruit forward with the typical bitters you find in petit rouge (95%).

Les Crêtes

Valle d'Aosta Fumin 2020

A bit of a different profile from prior vintages. Much more plush, juicy and fruit forward. (Warmer/riper vintage?) Ruby red color with a purple rim. More fruit forward aromas and flavors of dark cherry, black raspberry, vanilla, fresh herbs, tobacco, graphite and a slight hint of pine needles. Touch of black licorice on the long and lingering finish. Soft tannins. Very deep and complex. Consistently great mountain red. — 7 months ago

Chateau Feuillet

Valle d'Aosta DOC Fumin

Gorgeous Alpine red with a bright purple hue. Offers some slightly grilled scents and earthy tones featuring rose petals, white pepper, and dried leaves. Not a TON of fruit but I’m picking up on dark cherries. Super tight with a highly structured body that melts quickly with heat into plums and more cherries. Long dry finish. — 10 months ago
