Il Gregoriano Sant'Antimo Rosso di Montalcino

Really interesting Sangiovese and petit Verdot blend. The petit Verdot allows this wine to be ageable. It seems close to its prime. Nice bottle nose. Garnet color from the petit Verdot. The petit Verdot also adds an astringent finish which cleans the palate. — 9 years ago

L'Olivare Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

Lyle Fass
9.3

Lovely nose. Very earthy, mineral and cooling. Mid season cherries. Classic nose. As far from modern as one can get. Juicy and ripe with wonderful velvety and classy tannins and freshness. Big fruit on the palate that is succulent and super velvety then finishes fresh and mineral with the fruit pushing the minerals on the very long finish. So juicy. Polished but traditional. Like Darnaud or Allemand. Palate is so diff than nose but both great — 5 years ago
