Two years later I’m not getting the same feedback. I still enjoy but had more of a sweetness not overpowered.

Nose has ripe blackberry, fresh black cherry, cherry jam, mashed cherries, toasted anise seed, sweet smokey cedar, cherry liqueur. Rich and beautiful.
Palate has bright black cherry, old milk chocolate, cherry jam reduction, ripe fig, dried fig, black currant jam, moist garden soil, licorice and grape Jolly Rancher candy. Rich palate with mild tannins and long finish. This wine is in an outstanding spot with years ahead of it still, enjoy 2024-26, in proper storage. Decanted 6H.
Paired with pulled pork sandwiches, a Superbowl Sunday tradition for us. A local pork shoulder (Mill River Farm, New Marlborough, MA), dry spice rubbed and rested for 24H, then 10H in the slow cooker; it's just falling apart...so beautiful, our kitchen smells amazing! Garnished with our garden bread & butter pickles, homemade barbeque sauce, pickled red onion and a dash of cilantro, all a worthy combination. — 3 years ago
Jammy? Yes, but not bad … just a little simplistic in flavor. Oaky? Yes, but if you like a cab with bite you will enjoy this. Tasted 26 February 2022 — 2 years ago
It was a special night. 26 year old wine, that incredibly felt like it was just bottled. Tannins still present. Rich black fruit, with graphite and pencil shavings. As special as it was to enjoy this bottle with friends, it’s hard to reconcile the value of the wine. We had a Cos De Estournel with this and it showed just as well at a fraction of the cost. — 2 years ago
For #tempranilloday here is a delicious one from Rioja.
A very pretty color of dark ruby with a reddish/ brick rim.
Delightful nose of blueberries, black currants, sweet cherries, wood, licorice, spices, light vanilla, earth, tobacco, peppercorn, pencil lead, dark coffee and dark chocolates.
Medium plus in body and elegant with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, blueberries, cedar, spices, tobacco, brown sugar, coffee, earth, wet rocks, vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine-grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a great Tempranillo blend from Rioja. Spicy and intense with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
This 8 year old is starting to drink very nicely now. Would be nice to see how it evolves in the next 10 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine. A good wine to enjoy with friends and talk about. Awesome nose. Loved smelling on it for a long while.
Needs 90 minutes in a decanter to open up properly and remove some of the acidity, so take your time.
A good food wine too. Nicely balanced with enough fruits for the earthiness this region brings to the table.
A good quality wine that will age nicely in the next 10 years. The tangy finish makes it interesting.
A blend of 88% Tempranillo and 12% Graciano. Grapes were hand-harvested and aged for 26 months in French Oak barrels.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Blend with local Nebbiolo. Maybe less mineral than 2019. Good tar/roses, brambles, apple, some wet steel, very mellow tannins and acids, pretty young. From Amaro Spirits and Wine. 01/26//22 — 2 years ago
Fruit forward, also dry and peppery. Tastes young, very light tannins and acids, not very alcohol forward (like 2017 was early on). Leather, some dusty rose. From Amaro Spirits and Wines. 10/26/20. — 3 years ago
4/5 leather aroma 4/5 tannin vanilla flavor . Yum enjoy! $26 — 4 years ago
