2008 deliciousness... As you can see Ross is winning (so far) — 10 years ago
Popped and poured; presented double-blind. The wine presents a pale straw color with a silver rim. Medium viscosity. No signs of particle or gas. On the nose, the wine expresses notes of pineapple, apricot, yellow flowers, and what I detected as ferrous minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry and elevated acidity; what I would place as medium+. Confirmed the pineapple and stone fruits which are accompanied by some lemon citrus and the aforementioned minerals. There’s a good core of fruit but the structure is hard to place in the New World so I’m in France, Burgundy, Chablis…from a quality producer…village level. Turns out…I was close. And I gotta be honest, I almost called 1er but I couldn’t easily pick out the oak treatment until I had an empty glass and there it was. Oh well…learning. Regardless, a lovely example from a warm vintage.

Went 2011 Chablis blind. Nonaromatic, mineral, with some neutral oak and leesy aromas. Acid driven. Mineral. Beautiful. — 7 years ago

Shy nose, but very pure and authentic Chablis. Steely, razor sharp citrus, salty mineral. Long. Very pure expression. — 2 months ago
