Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 2018

Delectable Wine

The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru was bottled in May alongside the Folatières, as they wanted to keep them longer in tank. It delivers on the promise of last year’s showing with beeswax and citrus lemon notes, although it might just have closed up a little since bottling. The palate is vibrant and energetic, very smooth in texture, offering lovely white peach, almond and white Chinese tea notes toward the finish. I suspect that this will surpass the 2019. Little denser than expected. Opened too young. Lovely once aired out. Great cherry notes. Good minerality. — 6 months ago

Gros Plant Du Pays Nantais Folle Blanche 11 2018

A unique gem from the Loire Valley in France. Produced from the rather rare Folle Blanche grape. This wine presents wonderful fruit aromas, a smooth lush mouth feel, a hint of green apple finishing with a slight effervescences. A pleasant surprise that begs for more notice. Cheers 🍷 — 2 years ago

While this was very good it is not my favorite vintage or vineyard from this particular producer who I happen to like very much

Savigny - Vergelesses 1er Cru Chardonnay 2016

Amusingly last bottle we had of this was exactly one year ago today. Still nice a year later - good weight and complexity, great acid, some nice straw laced with minerality, delicate but persistent finish. — 7 months ago
