Entirely Merlot based, this beautiful new wine was aged in 50% new French oak for sixteen months before bottling. Ripe blackberry aromatic tones mingle with shades of dark chocolate shavings and tar that all come together in the glass. The palate shows a wonderful sense of mouthfeel and weight, with great acidity that runs through the core of dark fruits, dark chocolate shavings and creosote flavors. Fresh, vibrant and full of life in its youth, this outstanding wine will have a long life ahead of it. Drink 2020-2038- 93 — 18 days ago
Ample freshness and brightness which makes me think of grapefruit and light honey. — 16 days ago

Sure, oak is prominent here, but to me it’s more of a decoy for the lovely fresh stone fruit core and enhances the nuances of cantaloupe, lime, honeysuckle, and light citrus. Acidity is round yet firm, good enough to give the richly textured palate a lift.
I usually prefer more saline and mineral, but this is undeniably well made and delicious. And quite elegant. — 13 days ago
Opened this beauty to celebrate a birthday and enjoy with my parents over our favorite pizza. Not the best pairing but delicious wine to sip on its own. This aging time seems good. Still very fresh and aromatic and bright tasting and looking. Mellow tannins, soft mouthfeel. Enough acidity and flavors still. Would happily have many bottles of this! — 16 days ago
Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, tart cherry, tobacco, smoke and florals. On the palate, cherry, plum, earth, vanilla and chocolate. Full bodied, great balance, rich, lush mouthfeel. Long finish of chocolate. — 24 days ago
Nose has ripe plum, cedar cigar box, lavender, dried blueberries, dried black currant, licorice candy, mashed black cherries with light alcohol heat (assumed from the Zinfandel).
Palate has over-ripe plum, blackberry, milk chocolate, granite dust, violets, cocoa powder, ripe blackberries with still present tannins and a long finish. Spectacular. Drink Magnum's on this 2020-2030, when in proper storage. Based on this evenings performance, I suspect this will be in prime enjoyment 2024+.
1500ml bottle bought from the winery in October 2008; a blend of 58% Zinfandel, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon.
A perfect pairing to amazing seasoned and grilled NY Strip steaks from Kinderhook Farm (Valatie, NY), pulled at 125° and will rested afterwards, barely needed knives this evening! — 16 days ago
Fun in a bottle. Accessible and versatile. Paired with both Chinese and Indian dishes to great effect. — 4 days ago
