More Special Club goodness and these bottlings just never disappoint. Pale straw with mildly effusive perlage. A sharp, striking nose shows pears and honeydew off the top. Mandarin oranges, honeycomb, and some really nice mint. With time in the glass, delicate white flowers and dough began to show off. Really, a rather interesting and pleasant nose.
A one off bottling from the single Grand Cru vineyard La Blanche Voie in Verzy. Equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with no dosage. Intense, intense champagne but softened slightly with time and air. Wonderful tension and alacrity. Very balanced.
On the palate, green apples burst from the glass. Those citrus notes reappear and then recede gracefully. A little red cherry, a dash of spice. All balance with everything in its right place. Truly, a beautifully harmonious champagne. — a year ago

Because it’s the “defense” wine, but also because it’s beautiful. Fruity, but creamy because of the delicate bubbles. Dr. Jason approves. — a month ago
