Very good obviously, but still a baby would love to try this with a few more years on it… notes: fennel, bright red and black fruits, very rich, reminds me a bit with its minerality of fine Bordeaux tannins are medium and on the softer side… — 3 months ago
Took quite a time to open up, decanted around 2 hours
But the wait rewarded
A fine St Julien which is built to last and have tucked away the balance to a few more years — 3 days ago
seeeeeeeeeexy wine, smooth soft tannins, lightly effervescent, tart cherry juice and chocolate — 3 months ago
Always such a singular wine. It has the weight and richness of a white Rhône, with the acid and mineral tension of a great white burg. I like to say “Chaveneau.” It’s stunningly aromatic with layered depth and complexity, wafting from the glass with ripe tropical fruit, hazelnut, wildflower honey and pastry cream. The palate is rich and intense, but retains focus and balance along with killer volume, an elegant texture and excellent length. I continue to prefer GDP blanc to the rouge. — 4 months ago
