Bodegas Alto Moncayo

Veraton Campo de Borja Garnacha 2015

A joint venture of Jorge Ordonez, Bodegas Borsao and Chris Ringland, located in the town of Bulbuente (Zaragoza) Spain. Alto Moncayo is the flagship of the winery. A single-grape variety of Garnacha, from vines between 40 and 70 years old, aged in new barrels for 20 months. Bold aromas of fruit and spice. On the palate black fruit flavors, rich and full-bodied, with complex spice. Fine tannins, savory, good structure ending with a smoky character. Very nice! — a month ago

Brunello di Montalcino 2015

Ripe, quite juicy fruit with candied red fruit aromas. On the palate medium acidity and red fruits with medium(+) ripe tannins, sweet spice flavours and a little cocoa. very good, alcoholic finish with a medium(+) finish. Overall fruitier than other #brunello which in some respects is a good thing because I found many Brunello’s oxidized (especially the Riservas) but that comes with a trade off and this wine had less complexity and less interesting tertiary aromas and flavors and a shorter finish than other wines. The #qpr is great though. Seemed more like a premium #rossodimontalcino than a Brunello. — a month ago
