Young, but only needs a few years. Elegant and excellent. — 2 months ago
2020 vintage. Premier cru and Monopole vineyard. Medium-heavy body. Some aged/golden flavors already present. Not the cheapest Beaune but this is banging and matches plenty of Meursault, Chassagne or Puligny in strict terms of dollars for the delivery. Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of large Burg houses but they occasionally surprise you. This is one of those said occasions. Not to be missed for the concentration and presentation. 8.7.24. — 2 months ago
Another beautiful champagne from the Launois family. A pale old gold color with nice perlage and intensity. Freshly baked bread and green apple aromas for days. Melons and white peaches with herbs for good measure. There’s an innate sense of lemon zest in the air that’s just magnificent.
Pure Grand Cru Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger. Four years of aging on lees gives this a resplendent and stately nature. Nice acidity and a superb mouthfeel, especially on the second day. Apples and chalk on the palate alongside vibrant citrus fruits. I struggle to think of a better value in Champagne than this. Stock up. — 25 days ago
Pale lemon with stone and citrus fruit aromas. On the palate crisp apple with lemons honey and flinty notes. This medium-body wine was smooth with a wet stone character with overall good balance. The wine finishes with pronounced mineral notes on a medium+ ending. Very Nice! — a month ago
This is simply sumptuous. Such an elegant and rich mouthfeel, and such depth of flavor. Grippy tannins, so decant this: let it breathe and loosen up. It’s delicious! — 2 months ago

#AgedWineTuesday
Dark golden in color with a brownish hue.
Light nose and very dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing lemons, apples, spices, light over ripen citrus fruits, earth, light wood, herbs, light vegetables and white pepper.
Short finish with limes and bitter herbs.
This 28 year old is a little past its prime, but still drinkable and interesting.
I had higher expectations, but at this age, it really depends on the individual bottle. That said, I still enjoyed it.
Needed 30 minutes to open up properly.
Good by itself as a sipping wine.
100% Chardonnay grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
