Bright, acidic, equally smoky, herby, and fruity. Paired well with spicy food. — 15 days ago
Mineral, bright fruit, spice. Opened up nicely with some breathing. Not our normal style but a very nice wine. — a month ago

Surprise surprise: nineteen year old Austrian Bläufrankisch! This blew my mind; bought the last couple of bottles for less than fifteen bucks each at some old NYC wine shop earlier this year. Figured I couldn’t loose more than that and what do you know: better than any young-half-willed-poser-red out there. Deep ruby color. Nose is definitely old with loads of cigar, coffee, leather chocolate and damp forest. Palate is dry, medium alcohol, full bodied, high acidity, high tannins, with dialed down rustic flavours. The fruit on the palate comes around after a double decant and some aeration in the form of tart dark cherry and black berry. Medium tannic finish. Good wine. Yes, saving the other bottle to surprise some other wine freaks out there. Cheers. — 24 days ago

We both loved it
Red fruit, specifically just ripe red cherry, leather, little spice, med+ acid, med+ tannins - not totally expected with all the bright fruit — 17 days ago
