Great acid and citrus fruit. — 7 months ago
Brilliant white wine from Pico island in the Azores.
Cerca dos Frades Verdelho by Paulo Machado speaks to the terroir of this UNESCO World Heritage Site in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. It’s salty and honied with bursts of grapefruit acidity. The wine is made with the Verdelho grape and partially aged in old French oak, adding a roundness and complexity. — a year ago
Really beautiful, the setting also helps! — 2 years ago
This is the Terrantez, not the blend. Tito is a smiling soul. Pleasure to meet him briefly, yet that is the kind of guy I’d enjoy sharing wine and music with. — 9 months ago
Citrus aromas and some minerality, but not as flamboyant as the centeneria. — 2 years ago
White tea and honey pavlovas, wrapped in a decadent citrus cloak — 6 months ago
When in the Azores drink… lovely Azorean whites, especially from Pico. Like w many Portuguese whites ( & reds), a blend- of what, I don’t know ( probably Verdelho). Salty, volcanic, & some serious yellow fruits. Bought in local supermarket for about 18$. Paired w local Sao Jorge cheese, local cured ham, & artisanal sesame crackers. Damn. — 9 months ago
Great minerality, a bit salty, and I think some nice stone fruit in there too. — 2 years ago

Closed. Smoky minerals, but coming off as insipid. May just need time. — a month ago
