Straight outta Sonoma; delicious depth and beautifully balanced. Fragrant and floral aromas easily escape from the glass. Fine grained tannins sporting vibrant raspberry, wild berries, broken earth notes and a slight rustic edge. Technical deets: 12% whole cluster, pommard, 667, 777 and 115 clones. 11 months in French oak, 40% new, sur lee. A long delicious finish. Suggested retail price $34. Finely knit, concentrated bubbles. In the glass, a blood orange core. Dry and delicate, aromas of rhubarb and cranberry escape easily from the glass. On the palate, it's plush and the finish is sweet. Summer strawberries, rhubarb pie, and thanksgiving cranberries dance like no one's watching. Summer fun in a bottle, don't think, just drink and enjoy the party! — 9 years ago
Hold the phone, amazing soul and substance from thee most amazing Piemonte vintage of recent note. This wine, which I just ordered for my store, is like a majestic equine, power under control. Not an audacious bragger, not a cocktail for afternoon drinks. Oh no, selling for under $40, this wine will wow those who consider themselves in the 'know' and for those who don't, it will leave you scratching your head, wondering what all the 'fuss' is about. Love #Barolo ?? But the price of admission is too steep, grab this one for the cellar, you won't be disappointed. #wine #delectable #wiyg #blackandwhite #photography #winelover #hashtags — 10 years ago
#MerlotMe sample the first among the many I've received in the last two weeks. This large production Merlot from the Paso Robles AVA, SLO county surprised me, decent acid to balance out its abundant red and dark fruit, Ruby, dark plum hues in the glass, medium tannins and a medium finish. A well made table wine which is food friendly. Solid QPR the SRP is $15 and sells for $13 where I work. 85% Merlot, with the balance being Malbec, which put some meat on those tannins and structure. 12 mo barrel 22% new. — 9 years ago
Love, love the fruit produced from this vineyard. It's not often that I give domestic Chardonnay this kinda praise, but one deserves it. In both flavor and texture this wine is rich and creamy. Prepare to be dazzled by an a Chardonnay that delivers intensity and a depth of focus I rarely see. Bosc pears, peach, sweet tangerine delight the senses, nutmeg and vanilla scented oak take a back seat, while zesty acid drives the soccer moms minivan. Full bodied, vibrant and the finish is memorable. Unsolicited, but nonetheless welcomed #sample — 9 years ago
A solid well made Pinot Noir which #IMO is highly over priced. An effusive flowery, berry scented nose, and just a bit of stank. The bright, vivid red fruits [think cherry, raspberry] are offset by vivid acidity. Sandalwood quietly plays bass in the background, while the silky, well integrated tannins dazzle and delight. The finish is sleek, but racy. Just because you paid more, it doesn't always mean you'll get more. #sample — 9 years ago
#NapaValley a solid effort from one of the more iconic Napa producers. Selling for $32 at Costco in San Diego. No it's not Martha's or Trailside, still it's a nicely put together bottle. Medium body and tannins, blackberries, dark plum and blueberries, acid keeps the fruit in check. Not a sample. The finish is medium plus. Btw, I wasn't in a yoga pose while I uncorked this gem and enjoyed its rustic deliciousness. Drink now, drink often! — 9 years ago
St Emilion soul & substance, in spades, this is your ticket to ride. From the sublime #Bordeaux 2010 vintage, a cellar selection alert. Chateau Teyssier over delivers at the unassuming price of $29. Again, worth restating, you cannot get this quality from California in that same price range. A brilliant canvas of taunt tannins, painted w/ blackberries, dry earth, and ripe dark plums, and slightly dry taste of the skin. Recommend an hour decant, it evolves gorgeously. Acid to fruit ratio is spot on. The finish is long and lasting. Purchased 6 more just today. #stemilion #bordeaux #wine #winetasting — 9 years ago
Wow, a very sexy number. You'll find this La Montina Argens Saten, Fraciacorta to be quite vibrant and creamy. Persistent, lip smacking acidity greets you with delightful flavors of fresh baked patisserie pear, bright honey-crisp apples, toasted almonds, a drop of honey and scented by acacia blossoms. This amazing juice is punctuated by a rich note of sensuous minerality, quietly playing bass in the background, and a long sumptuous finish will have you thinking about opening another bottle. #sample — 9 years ago
Cuvée Corner
Dry, generous red and dark fruit, well knit tannins, perfect acid to fruit ratio and a long, pleasing finish. Wonderfully food friendly and sold in my favorite bottle size, one liter. Drink now, drink often. — 9 years ago
